There are few specific sight-reading sources which include any discussion of the technical aspects of sight-reading itself. One that does is Rebecca Kite's Reading Mallet Percussion Music. Another is Berkowitz/Fontrier/Kraft's A New Approach to Sight Singing.
I also suggest browsing through treble clef etude books (for any instrument) at a good music store. Some of my favorites are trumpet etudes by Arban or Hering, and Gaston Dufresne and Roger Voisin's Develop Sightreading (intermediate to advanced).
