You know? I really thought I replied to this a couple of days ago but I don't see it in the thread so if I'm repeating myself I apologize.
As for solo suggestions: Have you thought about trying something by Smadbeck? I played his Etudes several years ago. I liked 1 and 2 but didn't care much for 3 however you may like 3. I have not played Rythm Song or Virginia Tate but both are suggested often. You may want to check the ranges.
As I mentioned in my earlier post I enjoyed playing Conversations by Miyoshi. However it is somewhat expensive if you have to purchase it new. I believe there is a recording of it in the Online Concerts link if you wanted to listen to it.
Gifford Howarth has a suggested repetoire list in the back of Simply Four. Of course you would have to purchase the book in order to review the list. You could also do a google search for Marimba Repetoire and find a few lists. Good luck let us know what you decide on.
