Hey, I am building a bass marimba and I have a few questions. Before you begin to read this i would like to note !!!!!!! ANY LINKS , TIPS, HINTS, OR SUGGESTIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!! One of the most important things that has been bugging me is where to drill the holes. I know they are supposed to go where the nodes are but will that work? Supposively nodes are usually found around one fifth of the bar. If this is true and i drill the holes one fifth of the bar i dont think the "marimba shape" will come out so that the bottom of the accidental bars are lined up in a straigh line with the top of the naturals in a straight line with the top of the accidentals and bottom of the naturals being a constant incline, which brings me to my next question. How much thinner and wider to the bars get as i go from low pitched notes to higher pitched. Another question i have is how to build the movable tuners in the resonators. Any tips for resonators would be helpful.
thanks again and any tips are greatly appreciated.
