To all you marimba-players,
I am building a 4 octave vibraphone, with total length 185cm (73"). Because of this length, the rails need to be devideable. In the vibe-world this deviding of the rail is essential for transport-reasons. I noticed that lots of marimba's which are even wider don't have devideable (or foldable) rails. Are you marimbaists not that demanding, or is there no need at all for foldable marimba's?
Another topic I miss on this board is height adjustment of marimba's. Apart from Adams and Yamaha there are not many marimba's that are height adjustable. How big is the need for this?
I hope there are some of you who are willing to react on these topics.
