You are right when saying hinged rails are more commonly on marimba's than on vibes. But I should say that every marimba needs hinged rails cause of the larger width (length) compared with the vibe. When I take a look at the Yamaha models I find the YM1430, the YM350 and the YM40 without them, despite the width of 182 cm.
About the height: How many performers are able to have a customized height on their "fixed height" marimba. Specially the Musser marimba's don't have height adjustment at all.
I suggest every marimba needs an easy height adjustable frame.
You are right about the MarimbaOne, it has a very nice height adjustment, but my favourite is the Adams.
