Its pronounced "de Loo-See-Aa". So there is an "S" sound on the "C", but in Andalucia (southern part of Spain where flamenco is from) they talk with a very heavy lisp. So if you are talking to a flamenco aficionado, you can impress them by making the "C" more of a "th" sound. So it would be "de Loo-Thee-aa".
Yeah, Paco is the best flamenco guitarist ever. His latest (and maybe his last) album came out a few days ago, its called "Cositas Buenas" and I will be seeing him in concert at the end of the month for the third time. As you might now from recent posts, I am trying to write some flamenco pieces on marimba. The forms have very strict rules, and already knowing to play flamenco, I think it would be cool to write some pieces for the marimba. It would work well, asl alot of marimbists like to do guitar transcriptions because it translates well to the marimba.
I don't really have writer's block, as I am taking my own songs I have already written, and just trying to transcribe them to marimba. But I am just having trouble with picking out the right inversions and such to make it sound good on the marimba. So there definitely needs to be some adjustments made. If I get atleast one piece done, I will let you know and send you a copy.
