I haven't really followed this thread, but I remember giving the British premiere of "Conversation in the Forest" in 1992. I heard K.Abe play Prism (the solo version) in 1987 and bought her Vinyl recording "Marimba Fantasy" after the concert. I've played Prism as an encore piece since that time in a number of concerts... For me both these works have tempos, which fluctuate depending, the peak of the phrase... very much like the Fritz Kreisler Violin works...

One of my teachers at the time, Peter Prommel, presented me with a good idea. After working out all the sticking you can practise playing the piece with only the left hand or right hand notes separately. This improved my accuracy a lot, and it emphasised my weak hand motions, which were emphasised by not having a dominant hand to
