In the opinion of Leigh Howard Stevens, Michael Burritt, She-e Wu, Eric Sammut, Tom Burritt, Evelyn Glennie, and myself, Gordon Stout, Mallet 5.0 marimbas are by far the best marimbas made, with the best sound. When we all play our Malletech marimbas, the bass notes are not weak and thin, and they don't sound like hitting hollow pieces of wood, or anything like that. Quite the contrary. Listen to the new Ewazen CD "The Percussion Music of Eric Ewazen" on Resonator Records (www.mostlymarimba.com). I think that no one with a finely tuned ear could say that the marimba sounds on the Concerto and Northern Lights is not a really, really great sound. Seven great marimbists and their opinions and stature in the marimba world must count for something. I too have played many different marimbas, from Deagan, Bergerault, DeMorrow as official representatives, to on occassion Marimba One and Yamaha. This has all been over some 40 years of experience total, so the decision to play and endorse Malletech was not arrived at litely. But rather through years and years of experience playing, listening to marimbists from all over the world on virtually every kind of marimba made. Very sincerely, Gordon Stout
